    Provided an $8 million grant and $4 million tax increment finance bond to support the rehabilitation of this historic theatre which was derelict and in serious disrepair for 37 years before its celebrated re-opening in 2012.

    Both the grant and TIF proceeds leveraged New Market Tax Credit and Historic Tax Credits. The complex structure of the deal was backed by the Downtown Retail TIF.

    Funded the first organic market in the Fairlawn neighborhood along Pennsylvania Avenue, the rehabilitation of the Fort Dupont Shopping Center at Alabama and Pennsylvania Avenues SE, the first full-service sit down restaurant in Downtown Ward 7, multiple storefronts in the Congress Heights neighborhood, and an affordable housing project in the Bellevue neighborhood.
